This is the first CD made by this recently formed quartet from the North West of England. It is also a first in the originality of the sound produced by these four talented musicians. The sleeve notes say, 'Jazzology do not fall into one jazz style, they are keen to create a sound and approach which has a broad appeal to audiences of all ages and musical interests'. This is their first CD and has provided a platform for Swing and Latin numbers but also original pieces from Willy and Simon. The content is hybrid, having Goodman and Charlie Christian-type Swing, sophisticated Latin, a small dose of Hot Club, and two original numbers from Willy and Simon. The result is very pleasing to the ear and could easily be appreciated by a non-jazz audience. The music has at times a gentle and soft quality in Nuages, Wine And Roses and Moon River; has seriously swinging improvisation in Tangerine, Rosetta and I Got Rhythm; and a touch of the exotic and romantic in the Latin and original numbers. This CD demonstrates four musicians who, each talented in their own right, clearly enjoy one another's playing. Being easy to listen to and very original, I can recommend this CD as a valuable and interesting addition to anyone's collection.

| Plays: | Clarinet, Soprano and Alto Saxophone | Drums and Percussion |
| Musical Education: | Self taught to play by ear, now learning the dots | Lesson early on, then learnt from the great Steve Berry, Stan Sulzman and Pete Churchill |
| Musical Influences: | Bechet, Armstrong, Goodman, Reinhart, Grappelli, Getz, Evans, in fact anything I've ever listened to. | Art Blakey, Tony Williams, Peter Erskine, Jack de Johnette ... |
| Musical Interests: | All Jazz, including Mainstream, Swing and Avant Garde forms. | Bill Evans trio is the ultimate for me. I love all Jazz esp. Brazilian. |
| The Band on the Band | Jazz for me, is about improvisation. To be free to express myself, but also to exchange musical ideas with other musicians, and this is what Jazzology offers. Truly inspiring. | From the first scratch gig when I was brought in 'on spec' I was bowled over by the freshness of the group - the lack of egos, the heavy duty listening between group members. |

| The Band on the Band | Creates an exciting environment where ideas are exchanged and developed by four very individual musicians creating a unique sound without compromising the individuality. | Stimulates creative writing because of the different instrumentation providing an inspiring sound and texture. I love the traditional and modern coming together, makes for a new and fresh sound. |
